11.Nov (Thu) School Show and Departure

The third period of Yamato’s EUTour 2010 will start on November 22nd. Before it starts we will perform at an event in Hamburg, Germany. The Christmas Spirit is already in full bloom in Europe. But we can`t enjoy it too much because our brains are in “touring mode”.

12.Nov (Fri) Hamburg Event, set up day

We are at the Congress Center in Hamburg.
We’ve known about this building for several years, but this is our first time to go inside
It is a very noble looking place. Let’s be sure to put our best product on the stage!

13.Nov (Sat) Hamburg Event - Performance

Yamato has toured Germany every year since 1999. That’s 11 years of two to four month tours all over Germany. We have had 353 performances in 30 cities. The name of “Yamato” has become well known.

14.Nov (Sun) Moving Day

We finished our big event in Hamburg without complications. We will stay in Amsterdam for the next six days while we wait for the remaining performers to arrive.

15.Nov (Mo) Packing and Preparation

The first job for the members in Amsterdam is to gather all the equipment and drums for the Yamato 2010 EU Tour, third period. We opened the Yamato container, unloaded what we needed and headed to the studio for the practice.

16.Nov (Tue) Taiko Arrive

We had our oke-daiko sent for practicing on during our stay in Amsterdam. We took them to the studio and started unpacking. They had been disassembled, so we had to put them back together.

17.Nov (Wed) Practice

There no plans today other than practicing. There is also no need to reassemble the oke-daiko. We just practiced all day.

18.Nov (Thu) Practice

It is the fourth day of practice in Amsterdam. We are even getting used to riding the street car. In about 10 minutes we can ride from Amsterdam central station, through Main Street to the Pretorious station, where we get off and arrive at studio “Muzy Q”. Another day of working hard to polish our skills.!!

19.Nov (Fri) Work and Practice

Today, we rented a wood working shop. We make almost everything on our own.

20.Nov (Sat) Travel Day (plane)

After six days in Amsterdam, it is time to move on to our next destination. Yamato’s EU Tour 2010 third period is finally starting!! Our first destination is the Ukraine. This will be the 50th country Yamato has visited!!!
It is very cold but our hearts are bright! Let`s celebrate our 50th country!!

21.Nov (Sun) Day off

Today is a day off, the only day off this month!! We don`t even know our right from left. We can`t speak the language. In this cold, cold, big city, we get a day off, but the sun goes down so fast!! It is already dark at 3:30pm. Oh well, we should just go to bed!! Good night

22.Nov (Mon) Performance in Kiev, Ukraine

“Yamato 50th country” performance in Ukraine. There were many interviews today!!
We went to the TV station at 6:30 AM. We were on the early morning, live TV show! Right after that, we moved to another TV station. For today’s last interview we gathered in the lobby at the theater. They asked so many questions, right up until 15 minutes before opening.

23.Nov (Tue) Moving by Train

We are here!! The most exciting part of Russian tour!! A 24 hour trip by Siberian Railway!! As soon as we got on the train we found comfortable seats. “Let`s have some drink and get some sleep!! Wait, let’s eat up first! This is wonderful!!

24.Nov (Wed) Moving by Train

The 24-hour Siberian railroad trip still continues from yesterday. We drank, ate and talked and slept. We went to sleep in the late afternoon until next morning. Everyone slept very soundly for a long time. The sounds and movement of the train rocked us to sleep.

25.Nov (Thu) St. Petersburg, Performance Day

What a surprise. Russian lighting is great. There were numerous quality lights available. And they were the latest type. We would like to use this type next year. We must find a way!!”

26.Nov (Fri) Moving by Train

Today we are on the train for only three hours. “What? The short trips are boring!” we say.
We bought a large amount of groceries. Is the train we’re on a Shinkansen? It is very modern.

27. Nov (Sat) Russia, Moscow

We’re in Moscow. Is it our sixth time here? Or is it seventh? Anyway, the tickets just fly out of the box office. The capacity of the venue is large! 6000 people? Now, do you really think we can sell that many tickets?

28.Nov (Sun) Moving by Train

This year is great! Once again we are growing the number of countries we:ve visited. First we went to Moscow and Siberia. Now we are visiting our 51st country, Belarus!!!

29.Nov (Mon) Minsk, Belarus

Here we are, Yamato’s 51st country, the Republic of Belarus!! We are in a town called Minsk. It is incredibly cold! We’ll be sure to give a good performance in thankfulness of everyone’s hard work!!

30.Nov (Tue) Moving by Plane

Today is our flight!! From Russia to Siberia, and then a 10 hour train ride back to Belarus, the tour was over before we knew it. We must return to Russia again.
